My Small Home Office Workspace

May 15, 2018

Filed in: Home Decor

Living in a small space, doesn’t mean you have to lose or compromise your workspace. For me personally, I do not work well, just waking up and working in bed. I have to have an area designated for work and an area designated for lounging / sleep.

I created my workspace by using compact shelving, a small desk and a little restyling.

You have to use different items to personalize your workspace and really make it comfortable for yourself since you already don’t have a lot of room to move around and play with.

I started by purchasing a cute, compact shelf from Ikea ( Dragnet Shelf Unit )for organization and it was less than $50! I spruced up the shelf by adding a bit of greenery and a small lamp that I found at Ikea ( Fado Table Lamp ) as well. I can use the shelf to store my printer, books, pens and anything else that I need to work efficiently and this keeps clutter and such off of my desk.

My mom actually purchased my desk for me a year ago and originally it was black and silver. However, that really didn’t flow well, so I recovered and refinished my desk using marble contact paper that I found on Amazon and gold spray paint 🙂

I finished my workspace by adding a small side table for ambiance, where I keep my magazines and candles. I enjoy having plants in my area as well because it just gives me a warm fuzzy feeling 🙂 I feel that plants are a cost efficient way to add a little life to any space!

Please feel free to leave comments, questions or ask for tips on how to make your small home office work for you!

Love your space. It’s chic and functional. I love how the bookshelf is organized.
