I have been following Coralie on Instagram for quite some time now. Initially her work caught my eye on the explore page on Instagram. I was in awe due to the nature of her work – she’s able to fit amazing artwork on the tiniest of spaces, nails! I love that she shares her process of painting portraits on her social media. Coralie is based in Paris, France and her first language is French.
Check out below how she got started and the inspiration that keeps her going!
When did you first discover your talent as an artist?
I have always loved drawing since I was child. I liked to create and be different.
What was the first thing you painted that impressed you?
The first thing I painted was a portrait either on canvases, but my specialty is painting faces on nails.
How long have you been in the nail industry and what made you decide to choose this route for your craft?
I’m hairdresser at the base, but during my hairdressing school, nail art began to be well known and I became interested in craft. It was then that I saw that I could express my artistic side ever better through creating and painting unique nail art.
What are 3 things you feel you must have to be successful in this industry?
Where do you find your inspiration?
I find my inspiration in seeing other artists create, also with people who have different styles and explore different ways of expressing their creativity. I love Chris Brown, that inspires me in my artistic side and my ambition.
What obstacles have you faced in your industry and how do you overcome them?
The difficulty is making my artistic style something that people admire. Showcasing my artwork so that others can relate and embrace my style of creativity. I think there are obstacles throughout an artists career in order to evolve.
Besides nail art, what other mediums do you use?
Acrylic on canvas. I’ve created many different pieces on canvas outside of just portraits on nails.
